Tiny Little People

By December 22, 2022One Comment

I started to type a reply text to a friend going through a difficult time, and I think God let me write what I needed to hear too. It’s certainly better than I know.

“When I get fussy about my life I try to remember that Peter tried to tell Jesus that he gave up so much to follow Him. And instead of rebuking Peter or laughing in his face, Jesus told Peter that he would receive a hundredfold better than what he’d given up.

The difficulties are real. Stoics (and Midwesterners) might think wisdom and solace are found by pretending the difficulties aren’t difficult, but Christ bears us up–acknowledging our difficulties–and promises us His reward.

He doesn’t look down at us thinking we’re tiny little people with tiny little problems. He looks at His people, whose every problem He’s made His own.”
